Chester Food and Drink Festival organisers have today confirmed that the festival will go ahead on August Bank Holiday weekend this year. despite the extension of the Covid restrictions until 19th July.
“We have redesigned the festival” says festival organiser Briony Wilson. “Taking full advantage of the fabulous options created by Chester Racecourse, we are now able to hold the festival almost entirely outside ensuring that even if the restrictions remain in place, the festival can run. We are thrilled to be one of the few that will go ahead, and we look forward to bringing some much-needed positivity, and delicious food and drink to the city.”.
The 2021 Taste Cheshire Food and Drink festival is the 20th year, set at the award winning Chester Racecourse and organiser have signed up one of the highest profile group of Chefs yet to grace the hobs on the stage.

Our festival is the largest of its type held anywhere in the UK at Easter, with over 150 Food and Drink Exhibitors on show. Headline chefs for 2019 were Simon Rimmer, Andi Oliver and Matt Tebbutt, as well as the best chefs from around the region over 3 days of free cooking demonstrations on the stage. 2020 has been a hugely difficult year for everyone, businesses have been hit so hard and people have really missed this kind of event from their lives, Taste Cheshire are absolutely dedicated to making the 2021 event the best festival they have ever been involved with.
Cheshire Food and Drink Website, Taste Cheshire has agreed to sponsor the event and it will be known now as the Taste Cheshire Food and Drink Festival, Chester. Taste Cheshire also has over 30,000 foodies that they talk to every week, so it made perfect sense to have this special platform dedicated to this festival.
For the last 8 years the Academy of Culinary Arts team have provided free cooking classes for the children who have come to the Chester Food Drink & Lifestyle Festival. James Holden, the Northern Director and his team of chefs last year taught over 900 children in three days in a series of sessions through out the day. These classes get very busy so book on the day early to ensure your child gets the opportunity.
Rising Star and local Head Chef from The Forge, Curtis Tonge, is joining the star-studded line up for Chester Food and Drink Festival 2021.

Sadly the Sausage competition cannot go ahead at this year's event, unfortunately, we are not able to run this part of our usual programme in a Covid safe way. We apologise for any disappointment this may cause and assure you that the sausages will return in 2022.
The Chester Food Drink & Lifestyle Festival, sponsored by Taste Cheshire, took place over Easter at Chester Racecourse for the 19th year in 2019 and the event saw more people cooking and being involved in cooking than ever before. It is anticipated that 2020 will see even more wanting to take part and enjoy fabulous cooking with such wonderful chefs.
One of the event highlights is the many cooking classes and demonstrations, with all the various classes and demonstrations full for every session.
